Silverado Associate wins CALA Excellence Award
We're pleased to announce that Francisco Pamanes of Silverado Beach Cities has been named as a recipient of the California Assisted Living Association's (CALA) award for Outstanding Team Member for 2015. CALA chooses recipients based on their commitment to providing outstanding care and service to residents in the communities where they work.
Francisco joined the maintenance team at the Beach Cities Community six years ago and instantly made a difference with his compassion and hard work. He is dedicated to ensuring the community is clean and beautiful, but also to ensuring that the residents are safe and comfortable. Francisco begins each day by walking the community’s halls and greeting residents.
Senior Administrator Sammy Hassan shares, “Francisco has a unique way of bringing out the best in people and, as a result, he touches many lives along the way.” Hassan shares that, one morning, he saw Francisco on one knee serenading a resident who was having a rough start to her day. “This is just one example where a simple gesture from Francisco had a transformative effect.”
Francisco's strong sense of compassion extends beyond his work into to the community at-large. Each month, he collects donations of household items and delivers them to disadvantaged families in Mexico. Each year on his birthday, Pamanes buys toys and other gifts, and drives them to Mexico to donate to children in need. Colleagues inspired by his generosity now help in what has become known as “Francisco’s Toy Drive.”
