Documentary Highlighting Silverado to be Shown by Australian Government Agency
Love Lives Here, a short documentary co-produced by retired Rutgers University professor Dr. Cathy Greenblat and award-winning Australian filmmaker Corinne Maunder, is on its way to a series of events sponsored by the Australian government. The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA) is including the film as a part of its 2016 educational series, which has been themed “The quality experience - beyond the expected.”
The third installment in Fire Films' documentary series Side by Side: Love and Joy in Dementia Care, the 25 minute documentary delves into the innovations that are such a major part of care Silverado communities. Love Lives Here was shot at four different Silverado communities in California, and features interviews with associates, residents, family members and dementia-care experts as well as photographs and video footage of the daily life at Silverado.
We are honored that Silverado has been chosen as a part of the AACQA’s efforts to ensure a higher quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s. Dementia touches lives in all corners of the globe, and fostering open communication across oceans and continents is an important tool in discovering ways to deliver better care.
Events will be held in Darwin, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Launceston, Perth and Brisbane. For more information on the event and its programming, please visit: https://www.aacqa.gov.au/for-providers/education/better-practice-conferences/better-practice-2016.
