Instrumental in Dallas History

The city of Dallas has a rich history that dates back to the mid-1800s. Silverado memory care community in Dallas is home to one of the few remaining links to that history — Mr. Alex Weisberg — whose family was instrumental in building up the Dallas community in its early years. He is the grandson of E. M. Kahn, a French immigrant who founded E. M. Kahn and Company — which was the oldest retail store in Dallas (and the city's first air-conditioned store). Alex regularly tells stories about his grandfather and his experience running the family business. His family also established both the first Jewish Synagogue and the first bank in Dallas. The Texas State Historical Association share this about his grandfather: http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/fka09
