Testimonial: "She is safe and well cared for when her family is not there..."
"I moved my mother into the Silverado in October 2013, after being very unsatisfied with the facility in Wilmette where she had lived for over a year, I thought long and hard about the move because I knew that change is very hard for Alzheimer's patients and can be very devastating. The staff and caregivers were so welcoming and well trained that the transition was seamless. It only took my mother 2 weeks to feel like she was at home.
Mom's room is larger than what she had before and the bathroom is so big it is much easier for both of us to maneuver around and has more room for her supplies.
In a short period of time, the staff has involved mom in many activities that her last 2 residences never did because they were understaffed and did not try. Silverado has no problem in this area and has music programs, bingo games, even visiting animals along with other programs that staff have used to keep my mother's interest.
You always receive a warm welcome when you come to visit your loved one at Silverado. If you come at mealtime, you are invited to stay and join the meal at no cost. This option has never been offered at other facilities.
Additionally, my mother's room is always clean as well as the common areas, which we were not always used to seeing in other places. I cleaned her apartment many times and did her laundry. Silverado does an exceptional job in this area.
I feel so grateful that I have finally found a home for my mother where I know she is safe and well cared for when her family is not there. The nursing staff at Silverado is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is very observant of all situations and call with the slightest concern.
From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile. While you are there, you are pleasantly told to have a good day or evening.
I would recommend Silverado to any family with need for such a facility."
