It's a Wonderful Life
Larrabee’s Celebrate their 64th Anniversary party at Cypresswood

Jack and Barbara Larrabee, both whom are residents at Silverado Cypresswood, celebrated their 64th anniversary in style thanks to their children, Silverado Hospice, and the Cypresswood community. Associates from both service lines collaborated with the Larradee family to plan a beautiful anniversary party.
The celebration was complete with a piano player and singer who sang the couple’s favorite love songs, including Moon River and Stardust. Silverado associates decorated the Cypresswood community with Barbara’s favorite colors, purple and silver, and a local bakery donated a gorgeous three-tier wedding cake.
With such a long, happy marriage, Jack, who is also a Silverado Hospice patient, shared his advice to a lifelong commitment in marriage, “one word, love.” He still remembers the first time he laid eyes on his beautiful bride – his fraternity house, Sigma Phi Epsilon, was throwing a welcome party for the Delta Delta Delta freshman pledges. He was setting up the party props when Barbara walked by – it was love at first sight.
At the party, each of the Delta Delta Delta pledges had her own introduction line. He went straight to Barbara’s line and introduced himself. He immediately went back to the end of her line and greeted her again. He then went in for a third and final time, and instead of saying a simple hello, he went in for a kiss! After kissing her, he told everyone standing anywhere close by “this is the girl I am going to marry.” From that day forward, they have been in love and the rest is history.
Jack traveled the world and Barbara raised three wonderful children. Through it all, they laughed a lot, loved a lot, and remained best friends. Although it’s been 64 years since they said “I do”, they still look at each other like it’s the first time they laid eyes on each other.
Happy Anniversary Jack and Barbara Larrabee!
